Each of the presidential contenders promises ”change” when they are elected, including new proposals for alternative, renewable energy. Worldwide consumption of fossil fuels like oil and coal has increased 23-fold since 1900, and current trends show we will run out of proven global oil reserves in 39 years. Human activity is disrupting the environmental balance, and will continue to do so until new ways of procuring and conserving energy are developed. This blog will explore where each candidate stands on renewable energy and, when possible, compare this to their respective records in office. It will also inform readers about the wide range of developing technologies that could change the way we interact with the planet.
